DJ AM found dead in his apartment

According to media reports Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, was found this afternoon dead in his apartment.

A rep for DJ AM released the following statement:

“Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time.”

According to reports on TMZ.com drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment. The site also claims that sources say DJ AM was upset over the recent break up with  girlfriend Halyey Wood.
