Rapper T.I. was sentenced to a year behind bars for thinking it was okay to buy unregistered silencers and machine guns. The rapper could have gotten ten years, but plea bargained out for a mere 364 days, plus a load of community work once he’s released.
According to OK! magazine, T.I. will have to pay out a fine of $100,000 plus do 500 hours of community service once he’s released. This is on top of the 1,000 hours he agreed to complete before going to jail. Not wanting to miss out on publicity, he turned some of his community hours into and MTV reality TV show.
For those of us that were hoping that maybe, just maybe it would give us a year long break from his, ahem, music, sorry to disappoint. T.I. said his career will continue, even while he serves his time.
“I’m still going to be able to make things happen. From where I am I’ll still be able to pull strings, call shots, put things in order that need to be put in order for his[sic] success to bring itself forth.”
Great.
