Yes, there is a God. A rep for Jessica Simpson has confirmed that the singer is no longer with the Sony Nashville label.
Now, before you all jump for joy at the thought of a future with no more Jessica Simpson albums, her rep goes on to say that Jess’s stint with the country label was never supposed to be permanent.
“She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album,” her rep told USmagazine.com. “[She] is and has always been an Epic artist,” her rep adds. “She continues to be on Epic’s label.”
So expect another craptastic pop album soon

Seems that Jessica Simpson is over the moon with her new country career and still oblivious to the fact that she really can’t sing.
She told audience members in Irving, California “I’m just so excited to be here doing this. It’s a dream come true. I feel like I’ve been given a second chance.”
Second chance? By my count, Jess, you’re on your 4th. And, if you keep screwing up the words to your own songs, you’ll soon need a 5th go at it.
Jessica had a bit of a hard time once again with her lyrics, flubbing them up on two songs during the concert. Her reaction to messing up the lyrics?
“Oops! I said whiskey too early! I messed up! I’m so embarrassed! But I’m starting over again because I really want you guys to hear the lyrics the right way.”
The audience, about 99% of them most likely there to see Rascal Flatts, had to endure Simpson screwing up lyrics on one more song and then warbling her way through several others. The singer seemed particularly happy as she closed her set out saying, “It’s so amazing to be up here. I still can’t believe I’m here!”
Neither can we, Jessica.

Once again a Hollywood star who is a bit heavier than a size zero is going on some crazy assed diet to get her figure back. As we all know, Jessica Simpson was photographed last week wearing perhaps the worst outfit ever and as a result there’s all this crap out there about her gaining weight. So she’s fighting back by swearing she’s going to lose 20 pounds in 8 weeks, according to OK magazine.
Great message to put out there to all your young female fans Jess: crash diet because the only way to be is super skinny! Jennifer Love Hewitt did the same thing last year when her weight came under scrutiny and now Cheryl Burke from Dancing with the Stars has a super duper workout video after gossip tabloids slammed her for some weight gain.
I don’t know but it seems very hypocritical to me to bash the media for making weight an issue then almost immediately doing whatever you can to lose the “extra” weight. Especially when most of us would love to look like the stars on their fattest day. How is someone supposed to be comfortable in their skin at a size 14 when size 6 and size 8 celebs are losing weight because they’re fat? Don’t be all “I’m fine with how I look, women are supposed to be curvy” and then drop 20 pounds.
Just once I’d like one of these “chunky” women to say, so what? And actually keep the weight on.

Seems that all the discussion about her weight has finally taken its toll on Jessica Simpson. During a concert in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she opened for Rascal Flatts, her performance was more like a bad audition for American Idol that a set by a world famous singer.
Simpson started the concert by gushing about how much she loved Tony Romo, which might have been nauseating, but not necessarily horrible. What was horrible was her stumbling through a 38 minutes set where she lost her place during songs, forgot lyrics, mumbled her way through and even had to get the band to stop and start over “Pray Out Loud”. One can only assume the singer was praying in her head for the set to be over. At one point she even mouthed “sorry” to the monitors.
She finished the set off by telling the audience that sometimes she wished she could just walk off of the stage when things go disastrous. She thanked the band for not going all Christian Bale on her, and left the stage crying.
You would think after all the crap and bad publicity Simpson has received in the past couple of years she would grow a thicker skin. Or leave Hollywood all together.

First of all, let me start by saying this: I have no issue with Jessica Simpson’s new figure. I still think she’s a beautiful, talentless singer despite the fact that she is a little heavier than in the past. In fact, I like this look better. Besides, who am I to judge her?
But I will judge her sister, Mrs. Pete Wentz, for blogging about the recent criticism big sis has come under for her weight. Ashlee has come out with guns a-blazing on her MySpace page in defense of Jessica.
“Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy… I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.”
“All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms. Just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard. Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend? I seriously doubt it.”
“How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Can we focus on things that really matter. – Ash
Yeah, let’s focus on the fact that Jessica can’t sing. Or act. Or think on her own for that matter. And kudos to Ashlee for wanting to help young girls love and respect themselves, instead of getting a nose job and letting the first hot guy that comes around knock them up. What a role model.
