Convicted felon Chris Brown was seen over the weekend doing a spot of shopping in LA after a long week of hard labor.

Brown has been serving out his 180 days of court-ordered hard labor lately and this is one of the few times we’ve seen the lady beater out in public, well, besides wearing an orange vest anyway.

As TMZ points out, it looks like Brown is taking to the dark side with his new pendant.  Well, at least he knows who he’s batting for, literally.

At his lawyer’s request, Chris Brown will be sentenced this afternoon, instead of Thursday as originally scheduled.

Brown is expected to be sentenced to five years probation and six months of community labor for the February assault on Rihanna.

Despite the fact that they both ended up staying at the Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York over the week end, it doesn’t mean that Chris Brown and Rihanna are an item again.

The New York Post reported the comings and goings of the two. The former couple was clearly not in the city together. In fact, it looks like Brown left the hotel once he realized Rihanna was also staying there.

Someone in Brown’s group told The Post the reason that the singer left was because “she [Rihanna] checked in.”

As part of his plea bargain, Brown is not allowed with 50 yards of Rihanna.

In a bid to save his career make amends, Chris Brown has released a Youtube video apologizing for beating up Rihanna back in February.

Calling what he did “inexcusable”, Brown gives what I guess he thinks is a heartfelt apology. He also explains his silence on the assault.

“Since February, my attorney has advised me not to speak out, even though, ever since the incident, I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility. I felt it was time that you heard directly from me that I am sorry.”

Okay, so you lawyered up and kept your silence. But didn’t you settle out of court almost a month ago, Chris? What, did it take you that long to find a speech writer that would work with you?

Despite his recent youtube claim that he “Ain’t a monster” Chris Brown seems to be once again at the center of an assault case.  And once again he’s the one in trouble.

Brown is being sued by photographer Robert Rosen for a March incident in which the photog claims Brown’s body guards shook him with “incredible force”.

While Brown wasn’t the one to actually give the beat down, more negative press can’t be good for the singer.

Remember that leaked photo of a bruised and battered Rihanna?  Well, it looks like that may just result in all charges against Chris Brown being dropped. 

In court yesterday, Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, was granted yet another delay in the case. He plans to file motions that have something to do with police discipline records, which may very well be the first step in seeking a dismissal for the case because of police leaks, most importantly the Rihana picture.

Brown has already pled non guilty to all charges.

He’s due back in court on the 28^th of May.

If the charges are dismissed, I think the crap will hit the fan.  But even Chris Brown gets off on the charges, I don’t think his career will.

As you can well imagine, Rihanna’s father was none too pleased about the fact that Chris Brown plead non guilty to the charges of beating up the pop star.

Ronald Fenty tells USweekly.com “So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then? I just would like to see justice go in the right direction. I don’t want his career to be damaged – it’s damaged already. I think he’s a talented guy, but everybody should have to pay. When you do the crime, you do the time. I don’t want to see him locked up for a long time – I just want him to acknowledge and get some help. Who did it? That’s the question now. If he’s not guilty, who did it? He should say ‘guilty’ and let the court be leaning into him and try himself to the mercy of the court, see if he gets a fine… Now he’s going to go beyond that and it could go longer, it can be even worse. It can be worse for him in the long run.”

Sure, we were all expecting it, but weren’t we also hoping that Chris Brown would be a man and own up to what he did?  Well, it seems that ain’t gonna happen.  Brown plead not guilty in court today to beating girlfriend Rihanna. Rihanna herself decided to travel to her home country of Barbados for the arraignment.

Rumors has it that while Rihanna attempts to get her life back to normal by partying it up and being seen out without Brown by her side, she is fearful that her beater boyfriend will expose a sex tape of the two.

A source says that while Rihanna is okay with her sexuality, she’s also a very private person.

“Rihanna has no issues with her sexuality. But she’d be mortified if her friends and family found this out! This whole beating incident is terribly humiliating for her. She’s already traumatized and will do anything to make it all go away as quickly as possible. The last thing in the world Rihanna wants is to see herself in the sex videos all over the Internet! She’s an intensely private person.”

Seriously, folks, I can’t see Brown being stupid enough to leak a Rihanna sex tape.  His career is having a hard enough time as it is. But then again, he was stupid enough to beat the crap out of her in the first place.
