Simon Monjack, along with Murphy’s mother Sharon planned a launch party for the Brittany Murphy Foundation whose focus is dedicated to children’s art eduction that was to be held Thursday evening.

Although an assistant to Monjack said he was cancelling the event due to his health, another source reveals, “He probably realized that everyone thought what he was doing was so tacky, so he decided to cancel.”

Monjack was asking for $1,000 per individual and $10,000 from corporations to attend the launch event.e pending.

After the paramedics arrived and administered CPR, the actress was rushed to Ceder Sinia Hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival.

Murphy is survived by her husband, screenwriter Simon Monjack.  Details are sure to come after the LA County Coroner finishes up the autopsy later today.
