So, while Billy Bob Thornton refuses to apologize for being such a twit during an interview with Canada’ CBC radio, he does want to clarify one thing:   his reference of mashed potatoes without he gravy wasn’t meant to insult Canadian audiences, but rather the host of CBC’s Q, Jian Ghomeshi, who was interviewing Billy Bob and his band, the Boxmasters, who were opening up for Willie Nelson.

Oh, so you weren’t insulting a nation, but merely one of the stars and a respected Canadian musician.  Well, that makes all the difference in the world, doesn’t it?

Apparently not, Billy Bob, because you still had your ass booed will performing in Toronto.

Oh and the rest of the Canadian dates?  Yeah, Billy and his band won’t be playing them.  An official statement on Willie Nelson’s website says the reason is than one of the band members and several crew caught “the flu”.

Yeah, right.

Why, oh why do celebrities think that because they are celebrities they can do and say whatever they want?  The latest start to fall head over ego off of the PR wagon is Billy Bob Thornton, whose appearance on Canada’s CBC Radio program Q yesterday was weird, obnoxious and arrogant.

Thornton, there to discuss his band The Boxmasters, actually refused to answer ANY questions, sticking mostly with I don’t know what you mean.  And really, the questions weren’t all that hard.  If you are in a band and someone asks you how long said band has been together, you really should have a rough idea. 

Host Jian Ghomeshi, himself a musician who was in Canadian band Moxy Fruvous, did a pretty good job of being polite, even when Thornton wasn’t.

Oh and Billy Bob?  If you are on a Canadian show promoting your music, you shouldn’t really say Canada is like mashed potatoes without gravy .
